Weekly Project Updates for the Women Build Project of the Habitat for Humanity of Schenectady County, New York. Women built a Habitat for Humanity home at the corner of Watt and Edward Streets in Schenectady, NY in 2004; in 2009, two homes were built on Gerling St., Schenectady, NY. There will be another Women Build project in 2010; planning and training are underway. There is a lot more involved in a housing project than just the construction on the home. In addition to construction activity, volunteers are needed for publicity, special events, family relations, volunteer coordination, providing lunch and childcare, fundraising, recruiting more women, etc. So, there are many opportunities for women of all skills and interests. If you would like to recieve more information about the Women Build and how to participate, send us an email to WomenBuild@hfhscny.org with all your contact information and interests and join our listsserv for project updates.
